Any registered voter is eligible to vote by Advance Ballot beginning 20 days prior to a Primary or General Election up until noon the day before the Election.  Applications for Advance Ballots are available at the Woodson County Clerk/Election Office or by calling (620) 625-8605.  A printable application for an Advance Ballot is available on this website HERE or Kansas Secretary of State website HERE.


Returning Advance Ballots:

In Person: Ballots must be returned by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to a Polling Location within the County or to the County Election Office, Courthouse 105 W. Rutledge St, Yates Center, KS 66783.

By Mail: Ballot must be postmarked on or before Tuesday August 2, 2022 (Election Day) and received in County Election Office by the Friday, August 5, 2022. Questions? Refer to Deadline for receipt of Advance Ballots KSA 25-1132.



                Early voting (In House/In Person) is available at the Woodson County Courthouse (Clerk’s Office) beginning Wednesday, July 13,2022. Hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and ending at 12:00 PM on August 1, 2022.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Per KSA 25-2908 "All Voters must provide Valid Photo Identification (Driver's License, Military ID, Kansas College ID, Kansas ID or other qualifying ID card) to Vote." For a list of accepted identification and additional information go to the or call 1.800.22.VOTE.

Deadline for Party affiliation changes (from one recognized party to another/unaffiliated) before August Primary was 12 Noon on June 1, 2022. Such declarations cannot be filed from June 1 through Septmber 1 (State Primary Election Certification).

An Unaffiliated voter may affiliate by submitting a voter registration application or party affiliation change card any time between now and until/including Election Day.
